Thai Wacoal PCL and Moreloop Co., Ltd. Participated in signed a memorandum of understanding to support and promote the use of recycled fabric following the Circular Economy Management System

On Monday, March 4, 2024 Thai Wacoal PCL. and More Loop Co., Ltd. has signed a cooperation agreement to support and promote the use of leftover fabric from production according to the principles of the circular economy Moreloop will be an intermediary space for finding and matching materials, high-quality fabrics leftover from the factory's production process. To sell it to a group of people who will process it for further use. It is a business that combines the principles of creating sustainability for the environment. Meanwhile They have applied digital technology to create their own platform very well. Thai Wacoal has an economic framework that focuses on careful resource management. So that no part is wasted, that is, products and materials are kept for reuse, remanufacturing and recycling. As long as those resources are used in the most cost-effective way.  

Thai Wacoal Public Company Limited, has signed a MOU in the project to promote the setting of targets for industrial greenhouse gas emissions, aiming for the Net Zero GHG Emission goal through the method of Science Based Target (SBT) setting.

On Wednesday, January 31, 2024, Thai Wacoal Public Company Limited and 19 other organizations jointly signed a MOU and opening ceremony for the project to promote the setting of targets for industrial greenhouse gas emissions, aiming for the Net Zero GHG Emission goal through method of Science Based Target setting (SBT). Organized by Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization), in collaboration with Excellence Circular Economy Enterprise, Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Thammasat University. "Under this collaboration, the company will receive technical promotion and support, Science-based target setting (SBT) consultation, and training on reporting, calculating, and quantifying the organization's greenhouse gas emissions. This includes guidance on operational procedures/technologies to achieve the Net Zero Pathway and Net Zero GHG Emission goals.

Wacoal Invites 6 Schools in Local Communities to Go Green

Wacoal is committed to operating its business while taking care of society, the community, and the environment. New employees participated as volunteers in a community service activity (Wacoal Spirit) under the concept of "Wacoal Invites Youths to Go Green." The initiative involved six schools in the communities surrounding the company: Wat Sai School, Wat Lat Bua Khao School, Wat Chan Nai School, Wat Phai Ngoen School, Wat Chan Nok School, and Wat Ratcha Singkhon School. The goal was to raise awareness among young people about environmental issues.

Thai Wacoal Public Company Limited was rated as one of the companies with “Excellent CG” score for 9th consecutive year in the Corporate Governance Report of Thai Listed Companies (CGR) 2023, according to the survey conducted by Thai Institute of Directors Association (IOD) in collaboration with The Securities and Exchange Commission and The Stock Exchange of Thailand. Thai Wacoal Public Company Limited given importance women’s health to the breast cancer.

Thai Wacoal Public Company Limited has always given importance to women's health to protect them from breast cancer. “Wacoal Pink Ribbon Fights Breast Cancer” which campaigns for Thai women, especially housewives and elderly women in the community, to be aware and have the knowledge and understanding to take care of themselves safely and far from breast cancer by promoting the project continuously for more than 24 years. Recently we had collaboration with Sathorn District office, led by Mr.Chatchai Kulanaphon, Sathorn District Director, and Charoenkrung Pracharak Hospital, led by Dr. Kamonrat Jongthanakorn, organized the activity “Wacoal Pink Ribbon Fights Breast Cancer for the Community” to provide knowledge about breast cancer. Teaching how to take care of yourself to avoid breast cancer along with a demonstration of self-diagnosis of breast abnormalities by a team of doctors and nurses from Charoenkrung Pracharak Hospital and also practice breast self-examination and breast screening by expert nurses. If abnormalities are found, they will be re-examined with a mammogram and ultrasound. To get more accurate examination results, Thai Wacoal Public Company Limited supports the examination expenses. Therefore, if traces of disease are found, they will enter the next treatment process.

Thai Wacoal receives the first Circular Economy Management System Certification in Thailand

Thai Wacoal Public Company Limited received the first Circular Economy Management System (CEMS) Certification in Thailand from Bureau Veritas Certification (Thailand) Ltd. under the scope of Wacoal brassier. The certification represents the company's commitment to driving sustainable business growth in alignment with the principles of the circular economy. This commitment involves optimizing resource utilization for maximum benefit, including the reuse of raw materials to minimize the use of new resources, as well as the reduction of waste to achieve zero waste through repurposing or recycling materials that have already been used. It helps create circulation in using limited resources and stepping towards a circular economy system through the implementation of key company projects, such as “PET Bottles for a Better Tomorrow” Project : Plastic bottles are recycled and transformed into yarn to design environmentally friendly products, such as lingerie. “Traval Bra” Project : Using natural rubber to replace a wire frame. “Wacoal Braday” Project : Donations of old bras that are no longer used or deteriorated to be systematically managed and disposed of properly, along with converting them into fuel energy, helps reduce community waste, reduce the use of natural resources, and reduce the impact of global warming. “Wacoal Love Earth” Campaign : with the concept “NOT A COLLECTION. IT’S OUR MISSION.” to save the world sustainably. As such, CEMS certification implements the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 12 (responsible consumption and production) and Goal 13 (climate action).
