Thai Wacoal Public Company Limited has been honored with the prestigious Eco Factory Environmental Excellence Award for the seventh consecutive year. This accolade is jointly presented by The Federation of Thai Industries in collaboration with The Water and Environment Institute for Sustainability and The Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand.
The award is a testament to our unwavering commitment to conducting environmentally friendly business practices for sustainable development. It reflects the company's dedication to upholding environmental responsibilities continuously.
Thai Wacoal Public Company Limited has always given importance to women's health to protect them from breast cancer. “Wacoal Pink Ribbon Fights Breast Cancer” which campaigns for Thai women, especially housewives and elderly women in the community, to be aware and have the knowledge and understanding to take care of themselves safely and far from breast cancer by promoting the project continuously for more than 24 years. Recently we had collaboration with Sathorn District office, led by Mr.Chatchai Kulanaphon, Sathorn District Director, and Charoenkrung Pracharak Hospital, led by Dr. Kamonrat Jongthanakorn, organized the activity “Wacoal Pink Ribbon Fights Breast Cancer for the Community” to provide knowledge about breast cancer. Teaching how to take care of yourself to avoid breast cancer along with a demonstration of self-diagnosis of breast abnormalities by a team of doctors and nurses from Charoenkrung Pracharak Hospital and also practice breast self-examination and breast screening by expert nurses. If abnormalities are found, they will be re-examined with a mammogram and ultrasound. To get more accurate examination results, Thai Wacoal Public Company Limited supports the examination expenses. Therefore, if traces of disease are found, they will enter the next treatment process.
Thai Wacoal Public Company Limited received the Outstanding Business Establishment Award in Labor Relations and Labor Welfare 2023 at the national level for the first year from the Department of Labor Protection and Welfare Ministry of Labor. It shows that Thai Wacoal places importance on employees, value promotion of good labor relations and have security in working life.
Thai Wacoal Public Company Limited received the first Circular Economy Management System (CEMS) Certification in Thailand from Bureau Veritas Certification (Thailand) Ltd. under the scope of Wacoal brassier.
The certification represents the company's commitment to driving sustainable business growth in alignment with the principles of the circular economy. This commitment involves optimizing resource utilization for maximum benefit, including the reuse of raw materials to minimize the use of new resources, as well as the reduction of waste to achieve zero waste through repurposing or recycling materials that have already been used. It helps create circulation in using limited resources and stepping towards a circular economy system through the implementation of key company projects, such as
“PET Bottles for a Better Tomorrow” Project : Plastic bottles are recycled and transformed into yarn to design environmentally friendly products, such as lingerie.
“Traval Bra” Project : Using natural rubber to replace a wire frame.
“Wacoal Braday” Project : Donations of old bras that are no longer used or deteriorated to be systematically managed and disposed of properly, along with converting them into fuel energy, helps reduce community waste, reduce the use of natural resources, and reduce the impact of global warming.
“Wacoal Love Earth” Campaign : with the concept “NOT A COLLECTION. IT’S OUR MISSION.” to save the world sustainably.
As such, CEMS certification implements the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 12 (responsible consumption and production) and Goal 13 (climate action).
Thai Wacoal Public Company Limited, a leader in the ladies' lingerie business that has long won the hearts of consumers and is managed by the Circular Economy Management System (CEMS), exhibited innovative products under the concept of WACOAL LOVE EARTH "NOT A COLLECTION. IT'S OUR MISSION." at the 27th Saha Group Fair.
The company launched 2 new collections: "WACOAL INDIN" - lingerie created from the natural beauty of soil colors, enhancing the value of wearing through the use of natural fibers and renewable materials; and "WACOAL FREEDOM, freedom...without definition" - a limited underwear model, such as lace boxer briefs for men who are ready to embrace new experiences and add color to their lives. During the event, visitors also had the opportunity to engage with the "WACOAL LOVE EARTH" mission by placing icon pedestals that align with Wacoal's mission topics, such as sustainable products based on the "BCG Model" guidelines.
In addition, the company exhibited the 'Wacoal Love Earth Fashion Show 2023' presented through WACOAL FOR ALL MODEL, featuring three themes:
1. WACOAL NFT: Connecting the real world to the virtual world.
2. WACOAL FOR ALL: Wacoal lingerie for everyone, every age, every size, every cup. Each piece of Wacoal lingerie is a sustainable product, as it is made from natural or recycled materials and produced using non-toxic, environmentally friendly processes.
3. WACOAL INDIN: Lingerie inspired by the colors of the earth, available in 4 shades.
