Wacoal Go Green: Creating Green Spaces with Terrestrial and Mangrove Forests to Combat Global Warming and Benefit Communities
Thai Wacoal Public Company Limited is reaffirming its commitment to environmental responsibility with the "Wacoal Go Green: Wacoal’s Green Heart, Planting Saplings to Create Forests" project. This initiative continues to expand green spaces by planting both terrestrial and mangrove forests, contributing to the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions and sustainably addressing global warming. Wacoal acknowledges that its business operations can have a positive or negative impact on the environment. As a result, the company has partnered with the Forest Industry Organization (FIO), a state enterprise under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, to plant and maintain forests since 2016. The project’s annual target is to plant 500 trees. In 2025, Wacoal continued its green commitment by planting trees at Friendship Forest Park in Saraburi Province, bringing the total number of trees planted since the project's inception to over 3,500. This effort helps absorb approximately 30-50 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent per year (TonCO2e/year), a success that highlights the company's dedication to mitigating its environmental impact. For 2025, the "Wacoal Go Green" project has expanded its scope to include mangrove forest planting. This expansion aims to enhance the absorption of greenhouse gases and strengthen coastal ecosystems. New employees participated as volunteers in this community social activity (Wacoal Spirit), a key corporate value. The mangrove planting initiative took place at the Royal Thai Army Nature Education Center in Bang Pu, where 2,000 mangrove saplings were planted. The "Wacoal Go Green" project is not only focused on combating global warming, but also on promoting community involvement in forest conservation. This initiative helps create income and improve the quality of life for local communities while sustainably restoring nature. Furthermore, it fosters biodiversity in the forest areas, restores ecological balance, and lays the foundation for a more livable world and a sustainable future for everyone.
